At Central Park Nursery we aim to support the children in our care to the best of our ability and continually look for new ways to engage them while encouraging them to try new things, learn new skills and most of all enjoy their time here.

Alongside child-initiated play, register, story and rhyme-time and other set activities through the day, the staff plan a range of activities that have the Early Years Foundation Stage at the very heart. All activities are geared to help the children’s development progress to ensure they are ready for school at the end of their journey through Central Park Nursery.

We have a range of exciting activities available to the children who attend Central Park Nursery (term time only). These come at an additional cost and are therefore optional but include:

  • Forest School
We have our own forest school on site which the children are able to access daily, however once a fortnight a Qualified Forest School teacher comes to Nursery to do a session with our preschool children. These include activities such as making toasting sticks, using our fire pit, getting muddy in our mud kitchen and much more.
  • Yoga
Every week Yoga Stars come in to Nursery bringing with them; songs, music, stories, puppets and themed sessions aimed perfectly at our preschool children.
  • Pyjama Drama
Sessions run weekly for our 1 and 2 year olds where they can sing, dance, make sounds and most of all enjoy themselves as they pretend to be everything from animals to superheroes.
We also have many other visitors who attend Nursery throughout the year bringing with them new experiences and knowledge for the children. These are free of charge and fit into a normal nursery day.
